The federal government awarded $105 million to six port and maritime infrastructure projects in Alaska. The funds come from the Port Infrastructure Development Program. The money will support the modernization and expansion of ports, harbors, docks, and related infrastructure statewide.

Kodiak secured $26,070,000 for Phase 2A of the Saint Herman Harbor Recapitalization Project. These improvements target the commercial fishing fleet and the local maritime economy. Nome’s Arctic deep-draft port expansion received $11,250,000 for local service infrastructure.

Anchorage’s Port of Alaska Modernization Program was awarded $6,394,000. This grant supports the Stevedore Support Facilities and Landside Operations Readiness Project. In Kake, $6,287,220 is designated for the Kake Marine Cargo Dock Development Project.

Unalaska received $4,402,403 for the Ounalashka Arctic and North Pacific Maritime Hub. This project advances infrastructure for commercial fisheries, shipping, and maritime operations.
