Anchorage residents have options for Halloween weekend, ranging from free dental services for children to a costume run and a bar crawl. The events run from Friday through Sunday, with several activities scheduled for Saturday.

The University of Alaska Anchorage is hosting a free dental day for youths aged 3 to 17 on Friday. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Allied Health Sciences Building at 3500 Seawolf Drive. Dental hygiene students will provide cleanings, fluoride, sealants, and X-rays under supervision. Parents or guardians must be present, and interested families should call 907-786-6960 to secure one of the limited spots.

Theater and music venues are offering Halloween-themed programming throughout the weekend. TBA Theatre presents a production of a Bram Stoker classic at APU Grant Hall on 4101 University Drive. The show runs from Thursday through Sunday at 7 p.m., with tickets priced at $17 for adults and $15 for military, seniors, and students. On Friday at 7:30 p.m., the Discovery Theatre at 621 W. Sixth Ave. hosts a Brooklyn-based trio featuring guitar, cello, and accordion. Tickets for that performance start at $53.

Nightlife options include a horror burlesque show and a themed dance party. Sweet Cheeks Cabaret presents a 1980s slasher-themed show at The Broken Blender on 535 W. Third Ave. on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with tickets starting at $27.50. Bear Tooth Theatrepub at 1230 W. 27th Ave. hosts a party at 9 p.m. on Friday featuring DJ Gre and aura photography. Tickets cost about $25, or $41 to skip the line. Alaska Dance Promotions at 300 E. Dimond Blvd. offers a salsa and bachata lesson at 9 p.m., followed by a dance party at 10 p.m. for $15.

Saturday morning features a 5K run at Hotel Captain Cook on 938 W. Fourth Ave. The event starts at 11 a.m. and includes trick-or-treat stations at each kilometer. Registration for individuals is $47, with team and family options available. From noon to 4 p.m., Fourth Avenue between C and F streets hosts a free family event with trick-or-treating, a photo booth, and a hip-hop performance at 1:30 p.m. A costume contest follows at 2 p.m., and a dog costume contest is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

Evening activities on Saturday include a bar crawl and a community walk. Avenue Bar at 338 W. Fourth Ave. hosts a crawl from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring eight bars and two after-parties.
