A woman in Buckeye, Arizona, defended her fiancé in court on Wednesday while he remained in custody on a $500,000 bond for allegedly planning her home invasion last month.

Police state that 23-year-old Zarian Dyer coordinated the October 16 attack with 20-year-old Adrian Ayala via Reddit. Court documents indicate Dyer instructed Ayala on arrival times, parking locations, and entry methods. Prosecutors alleged Dyer requested a FaceTime call from Ayala during the assault. Police report the victim did not consent to the entry.

The victim, who is not named in the source materials, testified that Dyer was forced to respond to false claims fabricated by Ayala. She described the moment a security sensor signaled her front door was opening. Assuming her partner was returning with groceries, she and her 17-month-old daughter approached the door. They found Ayala instead. He asked to use the restroom, and after she refused, he entered the home and attacked her. Ayala is also accused of kicking the toddler.

Ayala was arrested on October 17 and is currently out of custody. A judge entered not guilty pleas on his behalf for five counts. His release conditions include no contact with the victims. The woman described losing income and facing eviction following the arrests. She broke down in tears while recounting the events to the judge.
