Haeg asks Alaskans to gather at governor's office on Dec. 11
The Alaska Grand Jurors Association founder wants the governor to appoint an independent commission to review sealed grand jury records.

Residents of Anchorage are being invited to stand outside the governor's office next month. The goal is to press state leadership for a public review of sealed court documents related to the judiciary.
David Haeg, the founder of the Alaska Grand Jurors Association, posted a video on Nov. 3. He urged citizens to meet at noon on Dec. 11. The location is the Atwood Building on 7th Ave. in Anchorage.
Haeg says the gathering will serve two main purposes. First, he wants Gov. Mike Dunleavy to use his influence to call for the release of grand jury recommendations. Second, he wants the governor to appoint an independent citizen commission. This body would have the power to investigate evidence of corruption and cover-up.
The association argues that the Alaska Constitution protects the power of grand juries. Haeg noted that the document states this power shall never be suspended. He claims that for over three years, the state has effectively suspended these powers.
Haeg explained that a grand jury investigated the Alaska Commission on Judicial Conduct. The group allegedly found evidence that the commission falsified official investigations. This was done to keep judges with alleged misconduct on the bench. The grand jury wrote a recommendation to the people, but state judges sealed the document before the public could see it.
Haeg is a Soldotna-based big-game guide and commercial pilot. He has spent nearly 20 years examining records and interviewing officials. He believes former Judge Margaret Murphy was corrupt and that higher state figures helped cover it up. He also alleges that Marla Greenstein, a longtime investigator, falsified investigations of judges for decades.
His efforts led to the 2022 Kenai grand jury investigation. That jury indicted Murphy for perjury, though the case was later dismissed on procedural grounds. The group also produced a sealed recommendation that Haeg and his members continue to demand be made public.
