The third edition of the Michelin Guide for Texas, released in October 2026, lists 26 restaurants in the Dallas metro area. The guide marks a shift for diners in Fort Worth, where Goldee's Barbecue received its first Michelin star. This is the first star awarded to a restaurant in that city. The recognition joins 23 establishments that have held distinctions since the guide's launch in 2024 and two added in 2025.
Goldee's, located at 4645 Dick Price Road, was founded by a group of former high school classmates from Arlington who trained under pitmasters Aaron Franklin and Tom Micklethwait. The restaurant, which Texas Monthly named the state's top barbecue spot in 2021, now faces increased demand from the guide's attention. The star joins a list of one-star holders that includes Tatsu in Deep Ellum and Mamani in Uptown, the latter of which opened in September 2026 and earned its star within a month of launch.
Four new restaurants joined the guide in 2026. In Dallas, Resident Taqueria in Lake Highlands received a Bib Gourmand designation. This award recognizes high-quality food at a good value. The taco shop, owned by Andrew and Amy Savoie, has operated since 2015 and expanded in 2025 by taking over the adjacent storefront. It does not accept reservations, so patrons must wait for a table.
Three other 2026 additions were placed in the recommended category. Olōyō, a fine-dining Mexican restaurant in Old East Dallas, imports heirloom corn from chef Oliva López's home region of Colima. Fond, located at 1601 Elm Street in downtown Dallas, serves Detroit-style pizza and natural wines. MĀBO, on Berkshire Lane, offers yakitori kappo, a multi-course chicken-focused menu cooked over charcoal. Chef Masayuki Otaka previously received recognition from the James Beard Awards.
Plano added its first entry with Jashan, an Indian fine-dining restaurant. Chef Ramesh Thangaraon, whose previous restaurant in Malaysia won a Michelin award in 2023, designed a tasting menu that explores regional Indian cuisines. The 12-course option is available for those seeking a full experience, with a 9-course alternative also offered.
Not every change was an addition. Lucia, an Italian restaurant in the Bishop Arts District, moved from the Bib Gourmand category to the recommended list. It had held the Bib Gourmand distinction in 2024 and 2025. Meanwhile, Georgie, previously a recommended restaurant, was removed from the guide entirely. The guide's categories range from three-star, the highest honor, to recommended, which indicates a good meal but a lower tier than the starred or Bib Gourmand levels.
The guide also recognizes bars and hotels. Mister Charles in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood received an Exceptional Cocktails Award in 2025. The venue is part of the Duro Hospitality group, which also operates Casa Duro, a guest house that earned a Michelin Key. These distinctions sit alongside the culinary ratings, providing a broader view of the region's hospitality offerings.
