Ticket buyers for Paddington: The Musical in London will have access to performances through at least June 25, 2028. Producers announced the extension on October 29, citing high demand for seats at the Palace Theatre. This decision keeps the production running on the West End for another two years beyond its current engagement.

The musical premiered in early 2026 and quickly became a commercial and critical success. It won seven Olivier Awards this year, tying the record for the most wins by a single musical. The show took home prizes for best new musical, best director for Luke Sheppard, best actor, best supporting actor, and best supporting actress. These accolades helped drive the strong ticket sales that prompted the run extension.

The production is led by Sonia Friedman Productions, StudioCanal, and Eliza Lumley Productions. They act on behalf of Universal Music U.K. Tom Fletcher, known from the band McFly, wrote the music and lyrics. Jessica Swale wrote the book, which draws from Michael Bond’s original story and the subsequent film adaptations. The cast features a new lineup for the extended run. Sonny Monaghan provides the voice and remote puppetry for the bear. Abbie Purvis and Hassan Taj perform the on-stage role of Paddington.

Other cast members joining the company include Samantha Bingley as Lady Sloane and Tarinn Callender, who returns as Grant. Alex Crandon plays Hank the Pigeon, while Linzi Hateley takes on the role of Mrs. Bird. Cassidy Janson is cast as Millicent Clyde, and Teddy Kempner returns as Mr. Gruber. Sandra Marvin plays Tanya, Haydn Oakley is Mr. Brown, and Marc Pickering is Mr. Curry. Charlotte Wakefield completes the lead family as Mrs. Brown.

The story follows a small bear from Peru who arrives in London looking for a home. He meets the Brown family, which introduces him to Windsor Gardens. The plot darkens when a vengeful villain targets the bear. The Browns then launch a rescue mission, realizing they need the bear as much as he needs them. The narrative blends family comedy with a thriller element to drive the musical's action.

The show is set to open at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Broadway in March 2027. A separate production will open at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney in September 2027. These international dates follow the extended London run, which will conclude in the spring of 2028. The Broadway and Sydney productions are currently in pre-production phases, with casting and creative teams being finalized for their respective openings.
