Childcare gap in Mount Sinai closes as learning center reopens

Working parents in Mount Sinai regained access to local early childhood care when Magical Beginnings Learning Center reopened its doors on October 17. The facility, located at 620 Route 25A, had previously operated under the name Paper Planes Early Learning Center. The reopening follows a renovation of the building and a transition to a new management group.

Magical Beginnings is part of a chain that operates childcare centers across New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. The organization stated that the center will continue offering programming for children in Mount Sinai and neighboring areas. The goal is to serve as a convenient option for families who require reliable care while their parents are at work.

Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 17. She joined local business leaders, including Holly Bottiglieri, President of the Mount Sinai Miller Place Chamber of Commerce. Director Lidia Dormier also participated in the event. Bonner presented the owners with a Certificate of Congratulations to mark the start of the new phase.

During the ceremony, Bonner addressed the importance of the center’s return to the community. “Magical Beginnings is continuing the long-standing tradition of providing reliable childcare to Mount Sinai’s families,” she said. She added that the town is pleased to see the center reopen with new leadership and energy.

Parents and children toured the renovated space during the event. They met the staff and viewed the updated facilities. The center remains open to the public for inquiries and tours. Residents can contact the center by calling 631-642-7777 or visiting magicalbeginnings.com for more information.
