Cook County Sheriff’s Office investigators recovered 23,000 cans of Red Bull valued at approximately $107,000 from a warehouse in Bridgeview on Monday. The seizure represents a partial recovery of a shipment originally reported stolen from a Joliet location on Oct. 7, which investigators valued at $300,000. The remaining value of the missing inventory has not been recovered as of Monday.

The theft occurred on Oct. 7 when a full shipment was taken from Joliet. The sheriff’s police Organized Retail Crime Unit partnered with the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force to track the goods. Joint efforts by these two units determined that the stolen cans were likely being stored at a specific facility in Bridgeview. Police executed a search of the location based on this intelligence.

Officers found 11 pallets of the energy drink inside the Bridgeview warehouse. The cans matched the description of the original stolen shipment from Joliet. The recovery operation is part of a wider pattern of organized retail crime in the region. Last December, police found a $2 million shipment of stolen goods, including Nike shoes and Dyson products, at an Oak Forest warehouse. Those items had been stolen from Joliet retailers such as Amazon, Kohl's, and Walmart. Last month, investigators also found $23,000 in stolen Dyson hair tools at an Orland Park warehouse after tracing sales on Facebook Marketplace.

The investigation into the Red Bull theft remains ongoing. Police have not yet announced whether suspects have been arrested. The next steps in the case will depend on the progress of the Organized Retail Crime Unit's review of the warehouse records and surveillance footage.
