Savannah Guthrie renewed the search for her missing mother on Sunday with a public appeal for information. Nancy Guthrie, 84, has not been seen since disappearing from her Tucson-area home on February 1. This marks nine months of active investigation.
In an Instagram post, the Today host described her mother as a light in the world. She asked the public to help give Nancy the dignity she deserves. Guthrie shared a childhood drawing made by her own daughter. The image shows an umbrella in the rain with a note reading, I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.
Law enforcement agencies continue the search without a specific suspect or person of interest. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced on Friday that investigators traveled to Florida. They met with scientists to advance DNA analysis for the case. The department remains open to new leads from the public.
The Guthrie family offers a $1 million reward for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie. The 88-CRIME program provides an additional $102,500. The FBI offers a $100,000 reward for information that locates Guthrie or leads to the conviction of those responsible. These amounts total more than $1.2 million in available rewards.
Residents can report tips by calling 88-CRIME at 520-882-7463. The FBI field office in Phoenix can be reached at 623-466-1999, or the national hotline at 1-800-225-5324. Online submissions are also accepted at tips.fbi.gov.
The investigation remains active as families and officials await further developments in the case.
