Jacob Allen Morley is on the run after escaping from a Tennessee prison on Sunday. The 28-year-old fugitive was last seen breaching a perimeter fence while wearing his prison uniform. He remains at large as of Wednesday.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and the U.S. Marshals Service announced on Wednesday that the reward for information leading to Morley's arrest has increased to $15,000. The previous reward stood at $2,500. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed the update.
Morley was serving a life sentence at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville. Staff discovered he was missing around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. Security cameras captured him cutting through the fence. He stole a white 2008 Ford F-350 around 1 a.m. on Monday. The truck, marked Lindamood Planting Company, contained an air compressor in the bed. Police found the vehicle abandoned in Marion, Illinois, early Tuesday morning.
Authorities list Morley as a convicted first-degree murderer. His other convictions include aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, evading arrest, and vandalism. He is currently on the Tennessee Most Wanted list. Officials warn he should be considered dangerous and advise the public not to attempt to catch him.
Police describe Morley as 6 feet tall or slightly under. He weighs between 240 and 270 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. Anyone with information can call 1-844-832-3463 or 911.
