The A24 documentary "You Can See Everything" has grossed $45.1 million domestically since its October 16 release. The film's recent box office success prompted a satirical cold open on Wednesday night's episode of "The Tonight Show." Host Jimmy Fallon appeared as director Nathan Fielder, while guest Jamie Lee Curtis portrayed Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

In the sketch, Fallon, acting in the manner of Fielder, asked Curtis if she truly wanted to be on the show. Curtis, wearing a blonde wig and adopting a Holmes-like vocal tone, responded that she loved talking to him. She denied coming to the program solely to promote her new project. She stated that she was engaging with Fallon as a human being and had no reason to deceive him.

Fallon concluded the segment by asking if she was being real at that moment. Curtis replied that she was always being real. As Fallon exited the stage, Curtis yelled, "Thank God! Fuck, what an asshole!" The bit mocked the specific mannerisms of the real-life figures depicted in the documentary.

Curtis used the appearance to promote "Newlyweds," a new NBC sitcom that premiered on October 23. The series stars Téa Leoni and Tim Daly. The show is described as a later-in-life love story about a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who marry after a whirlwind courtship. Curtis serves as a recurring guest star and co-creator of the series.

The promotion of the sitcom occurred shortly after co-creator Gail Lerner was fired from the project earlier this month. Lerner cited creative differences for her departure. In a statement released at the time, she described working on the show as the most joyous TV experience of her life.

The documentary "You Can See Everything" offers a look at Holmes in the month before she began an 11-year prison sentence for defrauding investors. Fielder and co-director Lance Oppenheim worked on the film for more than three years. The movie has received strong critical reviews and high box office numbers since its theatrical debut.
