Mexican authorities stated on Thursday that Shayna Feinman, 35, has been found in Tijuana. The 35-year-old was reported missing in Phoenix in March 2024. Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies said they have not independently verified her identity.

A Tijuana security force reported finding a woman matching Feinman’s description on Oct. 23. The sighting occurred in the Encino neighborhood of the border city. Officials in Tijuana confirmed the individual was Feinman based on their assessment.

Deputies from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office expressed skepticism regarding the confirmation. The office cited insufficient evidence as the reason for their doubt. Feinman’s sister, Kara, said she did not recognize the person shown in Mexico. Kara noted she lacked hard evidence that the individual was her sister.

Kara described the repeated reports of sightings as disheartening for the family. This was not the first time Feinman was reported to have been spotted. The family has maintained hope for her return since her disappearance. Two men were arrested in 2024 in connection with the case.

Feinman vanished without a trace on March 9, 2024. She was walking to a friend’s house when she disappeared. Tijuana officials said the woman has been moved to a safe location. She is awaiting contact with the Feinman family and U.S. authorities.

No details were provided regarding how Feinman may have traveled to Mexico. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the new developments in the case. The office is reviewing the information provided by Mexican authorities.
