Nuvision Credit Union will serve more than 300 complimentary meals at the American Legion Jack Henry Post 1 on Wednesday, November 11. The gathering marks the credit union’s eighth annual Veteran’s Day Appreciation Luncheon.
The event runs from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at 840 W Fireweed Ln. It is free to attend, though advance registration is recommended to ensure a seat. Participants must present proof of service, such as a DD214, VA ID, Military ID, American Legion Membership Card, or a State of Alaska ID with a Veteran Designation.
During the luncheon, Nuvision will present a $2,500 check to American Legion Jack Henry Post 1. This donation supports the organization’s Veterans Health Summit, which aims to provide resources and support to Alaska’s veteran community.
Roger Ballard, CEO of Nuvision Credit Union, said the event allows the organization to personally thank men and women who answered the call to serve. "We are honored to bring veterans, their families and our community together to recognize their service and sacrifices and remind them how much they mean to all of us," Ballard said.
The luncheon brings together local veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their guests. Attendees will share lunch, connect with fellow service members, and receive personal recognition for their contributions to the country.
Nuvision Credit Union operates 10 branches in Alaska, serving communities including Anchorage, Juneau, Fairbanks, Wasilla, and Kenai. The credit union serves more than 206,000 members across five states: Alaska, California, Washington, Wyoming, and Arizona.
This annual event is part of Nuvision’s ongoing community partnerships. The organization uses these gatherings to honor veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families in the areas where it operates.
