Tennessee state Senator Brent Taylor admitted on Tuesday that he sent unsolicited nude photos to women, a disclosure made just seven days before the general election.

The Nashville Scene reported that multiple sources told the publication they had received or seen these images from the Republican senator. Taylor acknowledged the reports, describing the actions as youthful indiscretions from his past.

According to the report, one recipient said she received a photo from Taylor as recently as 2021. At that time, Taylor was 53 years old. He has served in the Tennessee state Senate since 2023.

In a statement released after the initial report, Taylor said he is willing to acknowledge the past indiscretion. He noted that his wife is well aware of the situation and that they have worked through it for years.

Taylor, who is running for reelection to the state Senate and for Tennessee's 9th Congressional District, framed the timing of the news as a sign of the campaign's current state. He argued that voters in the 9th District are more concerned about grocery and gas prices than his personal history.

His opponent, Democratic state Representative Justin Pearson, responded with a statement criticizing Taylor's conduct. Pearson said that men of faith, particularly those who are married and in public office, should not be sending unsolicited nude photos to women.

Pearson, who is running against Taylor for the House seat, also cited independent candidates Dennis Clark and Michelle Head in the race. He described Taylor's behavior as disturbing for a candidate who has been married for 30 years and has held government office since 1995. Election Day is set for Nov. 3.
